You're In Good Hands
Dr. Hernandez's clinical focus reflects the depth of his training. He specializes in inflammatory bowel disease — including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis — chronic liver disease, celiac disease, colon cancer prevention, and reflux and motility disorders. He has served as a Principal Investigator in clinical drug trials focused on MASLD (metabolic-associated steatotic liver disease), placing him at the forefront of emerging treatments for fatty liver disease. He is one of a small number of gastroenterologists in New York with both clinical and research-level expertise in celiac disease, a condition that remains significantly underdiagnosed in the United States.
In addition to his office practice in Washington Heights, Dr. Hernandez performs procedures at Gramercy Park Digestive Disease Center, an AAAHC-accredited ambulatory surgery center in Midtown Manhattan, offering patients across New York City convenient access to high-quality endoscopic care.
Dr. Hernandez is fluent in English and Spanish and is committed to culturally sensitive, patient-centered care for the diverse communities he serves.
